An attar (or ittar) is a natural, rich, potent fragrance oil that is traditionally made from botanical sources, such as flowers (jasmine, rose, sandalwood, and more), herbs, spices, barks, or musk oils. These fragrance body oils have natural ingredients and last 3 to 5 times longer than typical Fragrance / Body oil. Attar comes from the Arabic word for fragrance and is the ultimate natural perfume. They are typically imported from Dubai, Spain, Egypt, India, etc. and are considered some of the best perfume oils in the world, especially for those seeking Natural Perfumes.
At first glance, an attar might seem pricey compared to modern perfumes or colognes. And if your only concern is price that might be true for you. But fragrances are things we put on our skin. They become part of us (and our loved ones) and so, in addition to price, and how beautiful they smell, we must consider how beautiful they are.
Our fragrances smell sublime and are made of wholesome genuine materials. On a more practical note, quality ingredients produce strong, supple oils. That means you don’t need to spray a ton of attar to be fragrant throughout your day–a few swipes will usually do. They can also be used as Body Oil, Scented Oil, Aromatherapy Oil, and Essential Oils. Plus, you can mix your oils with other personal care and grooming products or even other fragrances for a superb, quality signature scent that’s truly yours. The fragrance is so extensive even a little bit will last you for weeks or longer.
Oils can also be expressed by synthetic means but generally, natural perfumes which qualify as Attars are distilled naturally.
